I'm really bad at posting on a regular basis apparently. not that anyone reads this blog. but anyway, have been getting a lot of knitting done lately. i have mere rows to finish the second stripey sock, have started and am almost finished green/cream colored crochet cloth and have been working on a new knit afghan. i was originally going to give it to someone else as a gift, but considering certain circumstances which i won't go into in a public forum, i've decided to keep it for myself. i'm glad anyway, i never wanted to give it away. it's the most lovely vintagy (sp??...forget spelling, is that even a word?) green. The yarn i'm using is lion brand jiffy in grass green. what i love about it is that it's sort of fuzzy because it's supposed to be like mohair, but it just reminds me of the afghans my great grandma made with acrylic yarn that have gotten a little fuzzy from being used and washed so many times. please don't think, however, that lion brand is my yarn of choice. i'll never say anything bad about them because they get the job done and are most importantly relatively cheap (1.86/ball for jiffy!). of course i'd like to knit/crochet with expensive yarns made out of better stuff, but please remember i'm quite poor.


i also bought some sandnes mandarin petit (real yarn! egyptian cotton!) for the frilly stole on knitty.com in a nice green color. i also got some green beads that i'm going to use for the ends. i'm excited to start something summery for once, although i doubt it'll be done in time to be enjoyed this season. oh well.

i'm posting a picture of all that stuff here. i know the photo sucks but it's way too damn hot to make the effort to take another one.
