it is so insanely hot here i can't even bring myself to knit. i was going to write a self righteous post earlier about how i don't have a huge stash and probably never will because i generally finish and, perhaps more importantly, start all the projects that i buy yarn for and usually only buy yarn for specific projects. well...that was until today. i bought 12 skeins of lion brand kool wool to make a sweater when it's 95 fucking degrees out. i don't have much shame in working on an afghan while sweating profusely; however, i don't think i can handle even the though of a sweater much less working on one right now. anyway, it was on sale and discontinued and nice and soft...

in other knitting news i have completely finished and even sewed in the ends of my red stripey socks (finally!) and am almost done with the cloth thing. i just have to sew in all those damn ends too. that's what's so horrible about stripes for me anyway; i can't stand any form of sewing. i'm going to start the frill stole from knitty tomorrow because brain is too hot to function at the moment so will continue typing nonsense about knitting instead of actually doing it. and i think i'm going to make spring fling from knitty. the facking yarn costs $60 though which i think is insane. went to ben franklin today and found classic elite four seasons which seems a perfect substitute but only brings price down to $45. SOOOOO... guess what i found instead??? LION BRAND BITCH! yep. i think i'm going to try to make it out of microspun from lion brand. it's cheap, soft and the same gauge...although not made out of the same stuff, but at $12 for the whole project it's worth a shot.
