Mini Vacation

Last week I took a few days off to spend with my dad since he's up from Florida and will be going back at the end of this month. Originally we were going to go to Wisconsin Dells as neither of us have been there before, but we only had a few days and when we realized how far away it is we decided to modify that plan.

Instead we went to Madeline Island and stopped at Amnicon Falls on the way. I'd been to Amnicon before and it was pretty as usual. The water was quite low which was actually kind of neat because you could see all the rocks that are normally under water.

It was my first time visiting Bayfield and Madeline Island and I really enjoyed it. My favorite thing about Madeline Island was the forests. I've never seen forests so full of maple and oak. It was really interesting. Also, the island has a lovely beach and I will definitely be going back during the summer when its warm.

We also went to Jay Cooke which I always love. We walked further into the park than I ever have before. Again, the water was low which was cool because you could really see the Thompson Formation that's under the St Louis river. It always reminds me of something out of the Lord of the Rings.

I have actually been getting some knitting done on Ene's Scarf as well and am half way done with the small second chart. It's going by pretty quickly and I'm enjoying it so I will hopefully be posting some progress pictures soon.
